  • Background: CAH6 (Carbonic anhydrase 6) is a zinc-containing metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of CO2. There are three evolutionary not related families of carbonic anhydrases: alpha, beta and gamma. CAH6 belonds to the beta family and initially was localized to chloroplasts Mitra et al. (2004).
    However, lately localization to flagella has been confirmed Mackinder et al. 2017.
